Ilese Day Carnival Is A Communal Gathering That Has Rewritten Our History - Pa Odusanya
A retired but not tired Senior Civil Servant, Pa Olukayode Odusanya, has described the annual Ilese Day Carnival as an event that has rewritten the history of Ilese.
Speaking during an interview in his Ilese country home, the elderstatesman was of the view that the annual Ilese Day Carnival is a communal gathering that has exhibited the potentials of Ilese and further attract tourists.
The Bobatolu of Ilese who doubles as the Baba Oba Elese , explains that the idea of the annual Ilese day carnival was conceived twenty years ago to enhance religious harmony in the community and further encourage the youth to see to the development of their fatherland.
The Baba Ijo of St. Pauls Church also revealed that the event serves a source of revenue for the community to generate funds to finance capital projects which include the construction of a multimillion palace for the monarch, the construction of a police post to which has improve the safety of life and properties in the community.
He maintained that the community would continue to improve on the carnival and further sustain its status as the second largest carnival in Ogun, towards promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the people.
Baba Odusanya urged indigenes of Ilese to see to the development of their fatherland by establishing industries that would create jobs for the youths and further expand the economy of the community which will further positioned the community at a vintage position.
He spoke on his annual scholarship program which he described as a program to help the needy, adding that Odusanya Trust Fund would continue to help the children of the less privileged to have access to education.
Ilese is a community that is blessed with hundreds of business tycoon across the globe but only few see to the need to the development of their fatherland and they include Otunba Kayode Odusanya the former Chairman Ilese Development Council, Barrister Kunle Kalejaiye (SAN) The Governing Council Chairman Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Science, Otunba Sola Mogaji Chairman Planning Committee, Ilese Day, Otunba Segun Demuren, the Chancellor Ijebu Anglican Diocese, Otunba Olatunde Olowu former president National Association micro-finance banks, an Industrial guru and Otunba Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman Board of Directors SIFAX groups of Companies, the history of Ilese is incomplete without acknowledging the contributions made by these men of impeccable characters .
However, there is the need for all others patriotic personalities who are indigenes of Ilese to join the moving train and contribute greatly towards the development of Ilese and its environs.
